Dr Sarah R. Brotsky is a clinical psychologist specializing in the treatment of eating disorders as well as other mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety and mood disorders. Utilizing a humanistic and cognitive behavioral approach to therapy, Dr. Brotsky also treats post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), closed head injury (CHI) and chronic pain difficulties. She works with adolescents and adults and believes in the “team approach” (collaboration with nutritionists, physicians and psychiatrists) in the treatment of eating disorders.
Dr. Brotsky has been on local television speaking about body image, has co-hosted a radio program program for teenagers and has been a guest speaker on two occasions at the National Eating Disorder Association (NEDA). Along with her private practice, Dr. Brotsky has also appeared on the nationally syndicated television program, the Keith Ablow Show as an expert in eating disorders and she is an active lecturer on the treatment of eating disorders. In addition, Dr. Brotsky has published an article in Eating Disorders: The Journal of Treatment and Prevention and continues to write for local and national publications.
Dr Brotsky is a member of the Academy for Eating Disorders (AED) and the National Eating Disorder Association (NEDA). She is also a board member of the Birmingham Bloomfield Families in Action (BBFA) and on the membership committee for the Michigan Psychological Association (MPA).
