Dr. Fadell is a licensed clinical and educational psychologist, certified school psychologist, educational consultant and researcher who has been in the field of psychology for over 18 years. She spent 11 years with the Wayne State School of Medicine and the Detroit Medical Center’s Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology and has extensive knowledge in the area of women’s issues. Dr. Fadell has also taught psychology for St. Clair County Community College and is on staff at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in the Behavioral Services Division where she is on the ADHD Parent Education Committee.
In addition to her clinical, teaching and research work, Dr. Fadell is also a trained diagnostician. She provides psychological testing for children in elementary, middle and high school suspected of having ADHD or learning difficulties. Because Dr. Fadell is also a certified school psychologist and has worked in the public schools, she is well versed in special education rules, regulations and laws. This is a changing time for special education, as Michigan school districts begin to change over to new methods of determining learning disabilities. Dr. Fadell has the training and experience to guide parents to a thorough understanding of these new methods and the ability to work collaboratively with schools to secure accommodations for children who are different learners.
Dr. Fadell’s clinical specialties include: ADHD diagnosis and treatment; anxiety disorders; autism spectrum disorders; codependency; depression; family issues and; women’s issues. Her educational specialties include: psychoeducational testing; coaching and advocacy for parents of special needs children; IEP and 504 consultations and meeting attendance.
